Events at UCSB should comply with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) requirements and recommendations for mega-events to reduce COVID-19 transmission. Additionally, visitors using UCSB facilities must comply with the UC SARS-CoV-2 vaccine policy requiring either up to date COVID-19 vaccinations or a recent negative COVID-19 test result.
Indoor events with 1,000 or more people, or outdoor events with 10,000 or more people, should require attendees age 2 and older to provide proof that they are vaccinated, or have recently received a negative COVID-19 test. The test must have been conducted in the last 1 day for a rapid antigen test, or 2 days for a PCR test.
CDPH does not recommend using self-attestation to verify vaccination status or negative test results at mega-events., and CDPH recommends that operators require attendees age 18 and older to provide identification.
Masks are strongly recommended for everyone when indoors or when entering indoor areas like:
- Restrooms
- Restaurants
- Retail shops
- Concourses
- Concession stands
Visitors to campus, along with faculty and staff members who host visitors, should also reference the COVID-19 Interim Visitors Protocol.
